ORTHOPAEDIC TRAUMA
Raumedic addresses orthopaedic trauma by integrating advanced polymer engineering with microchip technology to deliver precise compartment pressure monitoring during limb-threatening emergencies.
This strategy is anchored by the Raumedic NPS3 telemetry console and the sterile, plug-and-play Omnibar E5F microchip catheter, providing trauma teams with continuous, actionable data for the rapid assessment of acute compartment syndrome.

NPS3 Portable Pressure Measurement Device
The Raumedic NPS3 is a compact, battery-operated pressure monitor engineered specifically for rapid, point-of-care intracompartmental pressure diagnostics.
Serving as the core display console within Raumedic's trauma measurement system, the device connects to the OMNIBAR E5F microchip catheter via a dedicated ICP-TEMP extension cable.
The NPS3 functions as an ultra-portable digital readout unit, allowing clinical teams to monitor real-time pressure fluxes directly at the patient’s bedside or during physiological stress testing without requiring larger, mains powered patient monitors.
- Handheld Portability: Features a lightweight, battery-operated architecture designed for mobile diagnostic workflows in emergency bays or operating theatres.
- Plug-and-Play Initialisation: Eliminates the need for manual pre-calibration or zeroing routines upon catheter attachment.
- Direct Digital Display: Transcribes raw microchip signals into instantaneous digital readouts to facilitate fast clinical interventions.
- Dedicated Diagnostics: Pairs seamlessly via an extension cable to receive stable, linear, and artefact-free physiological pressure data.
OMNIBAR E5F Catheter
The Raumedic OMNIBAR E5F is a sterile, single-use intramuscular tissue pressure measuring (IMP) catheter engineered for the early, reliable diagnosis of acute compartment syndrome.
Utilising advanced microchip sensor technology, it records precise physiological pressure changes at rest, during stress testing, and post-stress testing to help trauma teams definitively confirm clinical pathways.
Unlike traditional diagnostic setups, this advanced sensor system operates without introducing additional fluids into the tissue compartment, protecting the patient from artificial pressure spikes while maintaining excellent measurement linearity and baseline stability throughout the procedure.
- Advanced Microchip Sensing: Utilises built-in microchip technology to ensure high measurement precision, linear accuracy, and artefact-free diagnostic stability.
- Fluid-Free Diagnostics: Measures raw pressure directly at the sensor tip without adding external fluids to the vulnerable muscle compartment.
- Slim-Line Profile: Features a minimal 5F outside diameter and a 55 cm catheter length constructed from flexible, medical-grade polyurethane (PU).
- Standardised Insertion: Engineered to be safely and precisely introduced into the target muscle tissue by means of a size G 14 venous cannula.
- Hygienic Safety: Supplied as a fully sterile medical component to comply with strict surgical and hospital infection control guidelines.
